Citizens Advice
Mandeep is an accomplished equity, diversity and inclusion change agent with nearly 25 years of experience across the public and third sectors. Her work has received national attention and awards and in 2023, she was nominated as an inspirational D&I leader by 331 international diversity and inclusion professionals. Core to her practice is her belief in the importance of centring lived experience and undertaking the work within a social justice model to improve trust, EDI outcomes and EDI leadership.
She has a proven track record of spearheading change with honesty, courage and humility, to improve organisational EDI practice and culture. This is evident in her current role as Director of Equity and Culture at national Citizens Advice – a major UK charity. At Citizens Advice she has led a 3 year EDI transformation programme to ensure Citizens Advice’s EDI work addresses systemic disparities.
As a race equity specialist Mandeep has been at the forefront of sector leading pieces of work, such as a high impact change programme in the National Union of Students (NUS) to address institutional racism, which was highlighted as good practice across sectors and forums. Currently she is driving Citizens Advices’ Race Matters Programme to address race disparities within service delivery and workforce outcomes. Her specialism has included exposing the impact of oppression on mental health and advocating good mental health amongst marginalised communities.
Mandeep has been recognised as one of the 2024 top 15 influential women shaping global DEI by Diversity Global.
