Meet Lisa Mead, the visionary Artistic Director/CEO of Apples and Snakes since 2016.  With nearly 30 years in the Arts Sector, Lisa is a creative producer extraordinaire, renowned for projects like School of Dark (Charlie Dark), The Rememberers (Kenny Baraka), and COAT (Yomi Sode). Her commitment extends beyond the stage, championing diversity and inclusion, particularly in tackling Anti-Black Discrimination and promoting Disability Access.

Lisa’s influence reverberates through large-scale projects like Architects of our Republic and Rallying Cry. A fellow of the RSA, trustee of the Albany, and former trustee for Clod Ensemble & Chair of trustees for Oily Cart Theatre Company,, Lisa’s leadership extends far beyond her current role.

Her impact on arts education and community development is equally profound, having worked with organisations like BAC, ACE, Polka Theatre, Croydon Clocktower, Clod Ensemble, Talking Birds, and Arts Council England.

As a proud single mother by choice to two children, Lisa embodies resilience and strength in both her personal and professional life. We’re thrilled to have her as a speaker at UnderOne Festival, where her transformative experiences and passion for inclusivity will inspire us all.
